Direct from my studio to your studio/workspace via Zoom
Have you always wanted to take art lessons but never had the time?
Perhaps NOW, and whatever our new normal will be, you do have the time. Whether you are an established artist or a beginner, a serious artist or just want to have fun, we work together on a subject of your choice, something that inspires and excites you!
So let’s get started!
We talk by phone, get acquainted, and talk about your goals. Then we arrange a lesson time. For those of you new to Zoom I will coach you through the process. We will also talk about materials, what you have, or if you are starting from scratch. You can use either acrylic or oil paints.
You will text me or email me a jpg of the image that you want to paint along with a few words as to why you like it. If you want to work on a painting in progress, and you are stuck, tell me why.
When the lesson goes live:
I will be prepared in my studio to demonstrate any number of things from how to start a painting from a blank canvas, to showing you how to effectively use different size and shaped brushes, and how to achieve many different effects whether you are working in acrylics or oils.
I also use Photoshop as a teaching tool, and will have your work already uploaded.
Zoom allows you to “share” / see my monitor so that we can address specific points.
Initial complimentary 1/2hr. session to get acquainted and for you to get a feeling for how the class works.
1 hour session: $100
Classes must be booked and paid for at least 24 hrs in advance
Payment is required 24 hours in advance of the session and can be made using Zelle on your mobile phone or through PayPal.

My experience with Deborah has been exciting, educational and inspirational! She has helped me look at my artistic ability in new and creative ways like no other instructor! Her ability to help artists who use different mediums of creativity is profound! She has instructed me in a live classroom as well as from the Zoom platform with great success!! I was at a standstill artistically until I started working with her. Thank you Deborah from the bottom of my heart!

I am primarily a collage artist and decided to take an Abstract Painting class with Deborah at the New Studio for the Visual Arts in Jupiter. She was wonderful in encouraging me to think “out of the box” and to change and “mix-up” some of my techniques– when incorporating the painting with the collage. The end result was asymmetrical compositions—very new for me! As it turned out, I’ve recently sold more of those pieces which were composed under Deborah’s tutelage than my more “traditional” collages. She is inspiring, and has helped me grow to be a better artist by, as I said above, teaching one to consider another way to approach their work. AKA, “there are no OOPS in abstract painting.

I took Deborah‘s introduction to abstract painting class at the New Studio for the Visual Arts this past winter. It was my first abstract class ever and on top of that I just started painting at age 62. Deborah was wonderful! Very inspiring ! She taught me step-by-step and encouraged me to do it all on my own, to try and try again until I achieved what I was going for, to create my painting as I visualized it. I highly recommend Deborah. Love her style!
