Unveiled Duality

I’ve really stepped outside my comfort zone with this newest series. Drawing inspiration from Robert Mapplethorpe and Pablo Picasso, a most unlikely pairing of two artists, I am searching for a balance between the detailed accuracy of photo-realism which enriches my soul and the abstract, geometric forms of cubism which wreak havoc with my psyche. It is a balance of harmony and tension that exists amongst highly contrasting elements where the duality unfolds on multiple levels. My intention is to create a space where precise realism and fragmented abstraction coexist, inviting viewers to engage with the complexities and contradictions within each piece. Through this exploration, I aim to evoke a rich emotional response and encourage reflection on the interplay between order and chaos, clarity and distortion. By embracing these contrasting influences, I continue to push the boundaries of my artistic practice, allowing the balance between harmony and tension to shape the evolution of my work.
